VR Motion Sickness Cure, Solution, Tips - How to Avoid and Overcome

Well, if you love VR but always having motion sickness when playing VR games which hinders you from playing VR for a longer duration of time, you're not alone. Many people including me has been facing with serious VR motion sickness before, until I found a solution to alleviate the motion sickness symptoms and now I can play for much longer time without any issues.

So How do I Cure My VR Motion Sickness?

I'll just jump straight to the answer. For me, it was buying and using the official Oculus Quest 2 Elite Strap as add on for new Oculus Quest 2 (mine with the extra battery version of elite strap).

Well, since the Oculus Quest headset has heavy front, I always feel strained on my forehead especially after playing for 10-15 minutes. With the elite strap for oculus quest 2 added, I can now continue for 30 minutes to 1 hour without much issue (though still need to rest occasionally in between for best comfort). It's still not perfect solution in coping with VR motion sickness, but at least it helps a lot especially when playing more intense games with lots of motions involved.

Some people mentioned it's probably we're new to VR and play more with VR is like training you have better adaptation to overcome and avoid VR motion sickness, but to me this is not the case, until I use the elite strap.

What's the Downside of Oculus Quest 2 Elite Head Strap?

Now when using the elite strap, it's good for playing games but when I want to use it just for casual Oculus TV watching or just sitting on couch and sofa to relax, the back of the straps hinders my head to rest properly. This leads to real inconvenience for me to fully relax when I wanted to, and have to keep on sitting straight for everything including games and casual movie and video watching. I know I can detach the quest elite strap and use back the default strap comes with quest 2, but that would be too troublesome for me to keep on changing back and forth. So I'm stick with the elite strap with extra battery for my quest 2 all the time now.
